CHUKAR

Chukar are not a common occurance in the Southeast landscape but avid bird hunters love the quick flight of this hearty bird. In the Northwest region of the country, people have hunted chukar since the late 1800's when they were first introduced to America. Down south we are finding more and more plantations offering this bird in their hunting line up. The Chukar is a very perculiar looking bird, appearing almost prehistoric.
